​Gulleggið is a competition for entrepreneurs where people can start transforming their business ideas into startups. The winner of the competition receives 1 million ISK and a trophy - in 2020 I had the opportunity of designing that trophy. The year 2020 was shaped by the Covid-19 pandemic, where most of us had to get used to a new reality, living and working from home. It’s the year where we had much more interactions via technology, a year where we washed our hands far more often than usual and avoided all personal contact to strangers. Therefore I thought the trophy of 2020 should bear the resemblance of these strange times - being digital. The digital egg can be shared without any fear of infection.
